Long view

Build a body that remains useful.

Longevity is not a promise of a particular outcome. It is the study of maintaining capability, connection and curiosity across changing decades.

The long view has ordinary ingredients

Maintain strength

Muscle and bone respond to appropriately challenging work. Consistency matters more than dramatic sessions.

Protect recovery

Sleep opportunity, rest and relationships create the conditions in which training can remain constructive.

Keep learning

Adapt plans as responsibilities, health, climate and preferences change. Flexibility is a performance skill.

A weekly reflection

What did training make more possible this week, and what did it ask me to notice?

That question keeps the focus on function rather than comparison. It can sit beside more formal measures and make them easier to interpret.
