Movement practice

Fitness that carries into real life.

Functional fitness is a way to train force, balance, coordination and confidence for sport and everyday demands.

Four qualities to develop

Squat and rise

Leg strength and trunk control support stairs, lifting and athletic positions. Progress can be built through range, tempo and load.

Hinge and carry

Hinging and carrying teach the body to share work between hips, trunk and grip while maintaining a useful posture.

Push and pull

Balanced upper-body work supports shoulder function and practical strength without reducing training to appearance.

Rotate and resist

Controlled rotation and anti-rotation help athletes express force while keeping movement organized.

Progress without theatre

A mature program leaves room for imperfect days. Begin with a movement you can repeat, add a small amount of challenge and keep enough reserve to preserve quality.

Technique is information: when it changes, the session may be asking for a different dose.
